This organization holds great importance in making a difference in the eyes of the life-threatened child and family. Our mission when it it was started in 2000 was to support and make our community aware of The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. Now in 2013, there is a committee in place that is overseeing the program as a whole as this is a fundraiser for our Miss program that moves forward as a preliminary program to the Miss Delaware Scholarship organization. In 2008, the pageant organizers changed hands to yet another mother and daughter team who lead the program through 2012. Little did they know they would become more and more involved in the Miss Delaware Scholarship organization to the point that Kimberly was asked to lead the Miss Delaware's Outstanding Teen program. Its original organizers for the first eight years was a mother daughter team Kimberly Thomas and Kim Bailey who started the program as a fundraiser and community event. It was all started to raise funds for the Make-A Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc., and to promote community service. In 2000 the first ever Little Miss, Juvenile Miss, Pre-Teen, and Teen Sussex County Pageant was held.
